Top 10 most watched of the week: Sons of Anarchy zooms to the top

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Sling, non-sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most streamed home entertainment:

  1. Sons of Anarchy
  2. Big Brother
  3. Today
  4. El Señor de los Cielos
  5. The Big Bang Theory
  6. America’s Got Talent
  7. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
  8. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
  9. The Young and the Restless
  10. SpongeBob SquarePants

Sons of Anarchy premiered its seventh and final season with a bang — FX’s epic motorcycle club saga delivered the most watched show in the 20-year history of the network, and the show’s huge popularity was clearly reflected in our list of people watching live on laptops, tablets and phones. Daytime TV made itself heard as The Young and the Restless jumped back into the top 10, while SpongeBob held on to the No. 10 spot for the second week in a row. The Nickelodeon stalwart has been on the air since 1999 and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon.

As for sports, in case you forgot, the NFL season is indeed going on:

  1. NFL: Bears vs. 49ers
  2. NFL: Steelers vs. Ravens
  3. CFB: Arkansas vs. Texas Tech
  4. SportsCenter
  5. NFL: Patriots vs. Vikings
  6. NFL: Chiefs vs. Broncos
  7. CFB: Purdue vs. Notre Dame
  8. NFL: Cowboys vs. Titans
  9. La Liga (Spain) soccer
  10. Liga MX (Mexico) soccer

The most watched sports event of the week saw the 49ers fail to christen their new Silicon Valley stadium with a win on Sunday night. Other than SportsCenter, you have to jump to No. 9 to find sports people watched live on Sling other than (American) football — soccer from the top leagues in Spain and Mexico.
