Top 10 most watched of the week (sports): UEFA Champions League makes appearance

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Sling, sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched live sports:

  1. NFL: Broncos vs. Seahawks
  2. NFL: Buccaneers vs. Falcons
  3. CFB: Clemson vs. Florida State
  4. SportsCenter
  5. NFL: Steelers vs. Panthers
  6. CFB: Auburn vs. Kansas State
  7. UEFA Champions League
  8. Liga MX
  9. NFL: Cowboys vs. Rams
  10. NFL: 49ers vs. Cardinals

The NFL continues to be a ratings behemoth. Every week we see tons of Sling users who watch the NFL live on their phone, the NFL live on their tablet, or the NFL live online through our web-based or desktop players.  No game was more popular this week than the Super Bowl rematch, in which Seattle withstood a furious fourth quarter Denver comeback to win in overtime.

Non-American football has been steadily holding spots as well though, as users continue to use Sling to watch live soccer as well. This is the second week in a row we’ve seen Liga MX, and with 16 matches during the first week of UEFA Champions League group stage action, Sling watchers saw Schalke 04 surprisingly draw Chelsea 1-1, Porto crush BATE Borisov 6-0, Barcelona squeak by APOEL Nicosia 1-0, and more.
