Top 10 most watched of the week (entertainment): “The Walking Dead” lurches to No. 1

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Slingbox, non-sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched home entertainment:

  1. The Walking Dead
  2. Sons of Anarchy
  3. The Big Bang Theory
  4. The Voice
  5. American Horror Story: Freak Show
  6. Today
  7. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
  8. Grey’s Anatomy
  9. The Young and the Restless
  10. Criminal Minds

After surprisingly missing out on the top 10 last week, The Walking Dead was back where one would expect it to be, given that it’s the most-watched non-sports show on cable and all: at No. 1 on our list. A ton of people watch the zombie drama on their TVs — to the point where it might soon overtake Monday Night Football as the most watched program on cable, period — so it makes sense that a ton of people would be watching The Walking Dead on their laptops, watching The Walking Dead on tablets, watching The Walking Dead on their phones, etc., via Slingbox.

Other than that, it was a fairly unsurprising week — the rest of the shows we saw have all been on the list in recent weeks. One interesting thing to note is that as the traditional TV season kicks completely into gear, less and less reality shows appear — while you can see plenty of people are still watching The Voice online, it was the only reality series to make it onto the top 10 this week. We’ll be back with our sports top 10 tomorrow.
