Top 10 most watched of the week (entertainment): Midterm election coverage dominates

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Slingbox, non-sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched home entertainment:

  1. America’s Election HQ
  2. Today
  3. The Big Bang Theory
  4. Good Morning America
  5. Fox and Friends
  6. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit
  7. SpongeBob SquarePants
  8. 48th CMA Awards
  9. The Walking Dead
  10. America’s Newsroom

We term our non-sports list “entertainment,” and while Tuesday’s midterm elections were certainly entertaining for one side of the aisle, the title might be a misnomer this week: Only four shows on this week’s top 10 were “shows” in the sense of being a scripted or reality series. Three news shows, two morning shows and an awards show made up the rest of the list.

We always promote Slingbox as the best way how to watch sports live, but this week, many of our customers were using Slingbox to watch a different kind of sport — the biennial election extravaganza in the U.S. in which the entire House of Representatives, one third of the Senate and a bevy of state governorships are up for grabs. This night ended in across-the-board victory for the Republican party, which might explain why all three of the news shows on the list made it there because of Slingbox users watching Fox News live.

With the CMA Awards, we also saw the first of what should be a busy live awards show season on Slingbox — anyone interested in watching the Golden Globes live online, or watching the Oscars live online, etc., is definitely going to want a Slingbox as the winter continues! We’ll be back with our sports top 10 tomorrow.

Does no one else post comments here? I’ve visited a couple of times in hopes of reading existing comments and never found any. Am I looking in the right place? Thanks.
