Top 10 most watched of the week (sports): NBA All-Star and Cricket World Cup hit the list

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Slingbox, sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched live sports:

1. NBA All-Star Saturday
2. SportsCenter
3. Liga MX soccer
4. 2015 NBA All-Star Game
5. La Liga soccer
6. Copa del Rey soccer
7. NASCAR: Sprint Unlimited
8. PGA Tour: Pebble Beach Pro-Am
9. NBA: Cavaliers vs. Bulls
10. Cricket World Cup: India vs. Pakistan

We’re now squarely in what some consider the quietest period of the American sports calendar — when football is over and baseball is yet to get started. There’s an opportunity for some more rarely-seen sports to show up on our list now, as well as for basketball to shine. That was what happened this week, as the NBA’s All-Star events were big among Slingbox users — but intriguingly, the Saturday events were watched by more on Slingbox than was the game itself. It’s good that Slingbox made sure people didn’t miss Zach LaVine’s incredible performance in the dunk contest:

We also saw appearances from auto racing, golf, and cricket. Enough Slingbox users were watching cricket online to elevate it into our top 10. It didn’t hurt that the match in question was a World Cup game in Australia between India and Pakistan, one of the fiercest sports rivalries in the world. Ultimately India prevailed, besting Pakistan by 76 runs.

We’ll be back next week with another set of top 10s.
