Top 10 most watched of the week (sports): Daytona 500 and NFL Combine charge onto the list

Your 10 most watched programs of the week on Slingbox, sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched live sports:

The stock car racing season started off in fine fashion this week, as enough Slingbox users were watching Nascar on their phones, Nascar on their tablets or Nascar on their laptops to vault the Daytona 500, which was won by Joey Logano, to the top of our list. Nascar is unique in that it places its premier event — the “Great American Race,” as they call it — at their season’s beginning. It’ll be interesting to see if this is auto racing’s peak on our top 10 or if it will remain strong.

And while the NFL season is rapidly receding in the rear-view mirror, pro football still managed to make its mark on our list with its annual scouting combine. You need no further evidence of the NFL’s dominance than the fact that so many people tune in to see nothing more than draft prospects run, jump and maybe, if you’re lucky, throw. The story of the ’15 combine was Connecticut’s Byron Jones, who set a new world record in the broad jump:

Other than that, we also saw more appearances from the Cricket World Cup, more soccer and a smattering of basketball at the bottom. We’ll be back next week with another set of top 10s.
