Your 10 most-watched programs of the week on Slingbox, sports edition, were as follows. Check after the list for a few quick thoughts on this week’s most watched sports:

1. SportsCenter
2. NFL: Cowboys at Eagles
3. NFL: Seahawks vs. Packers

Sunday Night Football lost its spot at the top of the list this week with the matchup between the Seahawks and Packers dropping down to third place. The rivalry matchup between the Cowboys and Eagles that aired earlier on Sunday came in second place overall and took the crown as the most-watched NFL game among Slingbox users last week. The Eagles’ offense was historically bad in the home loss, with Philadelphia running for a total of only seven yards against Dallas over the course of the game. Tony Romo personally ran for 12 yards, which means he singlehandedly outrushed the Eagles’ offense.

The other kind of futbol (otherwise known as soccer) is also always popular among Slingbox users and took two spots on the list this week. It will be interesting to see if the UEFA Champions League stays on the list now that the group stage has kicked off. The most anticipated games of next week include the match between FC Bayern Munich and reigning champions FC Barcelona, as well as Real Madrid C.F. facing off against Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

We’ll be back next week with more top 10 lists.

Options are endless with the Slingplayer app

As some of you may have heard, we made a few changes to our Slingplayer app since the launch of the M2. In order to support our free app platform, we have seamlessly integrated ads in a way that does not disrupt your viewing experience. However, we know change is never easy so we are doing everything we can to make this transition as seamless as possible.

With that in mind, we are excited to announce we have decided to continue to offer both the paid and free versions of our Slingplayer app. This means you can choose to download the free app or opt out of advertisements for just $15, since we know everyone likes to have options.

With that said, we highly recommend downloading the new free app! It has great new features and you’ll enjoy automatic updates down the road. Another bonus, if you are a current customer who previously purchased the Slingplayer app we’ve got you covered. Starting Oct. 1, we will automatically disable advertisements from your viewing experience when you download the new version of the app – as long as you use the same email address as you did in your original purchase.

We want to provide everyone with the best TV Anywhere experience possible and are happy we can offer solutions that fit your viewing preferences!

Summer Recap: What Slingbox Was Up To This Season

It’s sad to see the warm weather leave us but as we look back at this summer, we can’t deny it was a great one for Slingbox. As we head into fall, we wanted to share a couple of our favorite moments from the past few months.

We kicked the summer off right with the launch of the Slingbox M2, our newest entertainment experience that offers uncompromised access to the shows we love, whether live or recorded, anywhere we want. The unlimited free app downloads are a hit as well as the new live video set up service – all with absolutely no monthly fees. The announcement made its way onto sites like Engadget, TechCrunch, Bloomberg and even on the New York Times!

Slingbox also made an appearance at a minor league baseball game for the Brooklyn Cyclones. As an official sponsor, we had a booth where experienced Slingbox representatives were available to answer questions about all of our products, including the new M2. There were over 5,000 attendees at the game and we helped get fans even more excited by handing out coupons, free water bottles and even coordinated a raffle where four lucky fans each won a Slingbox. The event was surely a home-run for our team!

Finally, as we geared up for fall, we helped our friend David Gregg share some back-to-school must-haves on TV shows across the country. Slingbox was a natural fit for this topic, especially since college students can use their device to “sling” programs from their parents’ TV subscriptions, including hometown sports games. Slingbox appeared alongside Staples, The Seagate Backup Plus Drive and the Kyocera Hydro WAVE on shows like Newswatch, Show Me St. Louis, Charlotte Today and more.

The last few months were great and we can’t wait to see what fall has in store for us!

6. 2015 U.S. Open Tennis
7. NFL: Ravens at Broncos

9. Futbol
10. NFL RedZone

The verdict is in, Slingbox users love the NFL. College football dominated last week’s list but is nowhere to be found this week with the NFL season kicking off and taking 6 of the top 10 spots.

The rivalry matchup between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys took center stage on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Broadcasters Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth and Michele Tafoya are back with another season of the primetime show that routinely routs the ratings and this week’s game was no exception. The Cowboys came up with some last-minute heroics to eke out a win over the Giants, 27-26, when Tony Romo threw a touchdown pass with only 13 seconds left in the game.

Tune into Sunday Night Football on your Slingbox this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET for a matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.

We’ll be back next week with more top 10 lists.
