It’s sad to see the warm weather leave us but as we look back at this summer, we can’t deny it was a great one for Slingbox. As we head into fall, we wanted to share a couple of our favorite moments from the past few months.
We kicked the summer off right with the launch of the Slingbox M2, our newest entertainment experience that offers uncompromised access to the shows we love, whether live or recorded, anywhere we want. The unlimited free app downloads are a hit as well as the new live video set up service – all with absolutely no monthly fees. The announcement made its way onto sites like Engadget, TechCrunch, Bloomberg and even on the New York Times!
Slingbox also made an appearance at a minor league baseball game for the Brooklyn Cyclones. As an official sponsor, we had a booth where experienced Slingbox representatives were available to answer questions about all of our products, including the new M2. There were over 5,000 attendees at the game and we helped get fans even more excited by handing out coupons, free water bottles and even coordinated a raffle where four lucky fans each won a Slingbox. The event was surely a home-run for our team!
Finally, as we geared up for fall, we helped our friend David Gregg share some back-to-school must-haves on TV shows across the country. Slingbox was a natural fit for this topic, especially since college students can use their device to “sling” programs from their parents’ TV subscriptions, including hometown sports games. Slingbox appeared alongside Staples, The Seagate Backup Plus Drive and the Kyocera Hydro WAVE on shows like Newswatch, Show Me St. Louis, Charlotte Today and more.
The last few months were great and we can’t wait to see what fall has in store for us!
