Slingbox users were feeling the holiday spirit this past week as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade made our top ten list. For 89 years, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has kicked-off the highly anticipated holiday season in the United States. This year, more than 3.5 million people watched the parade in person from midtown New York City, while 50 million people worldwide tuned in with family and friends at home.

The two and a half-mile route through the streets of Manhattan was filled with enormous balloons, custom-made floats, marching bands, dancers and so much more! The first parade was held on Thanksgiving Day in 1924 and was originally called the Macy’s Christmas Parade. Throughout the years, the name shifted and the parade is now both a Thanksgiving and Christmas celebration that has become a holiday tradition for many!

Use your Slingbox to catch all of the holiday specials this year. Another classic New York event, the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting, will air on NBC tonight at 8 p.m.

We’ll be back Friday with sports.

Slingplayer for Desktop sucks!! My internet speed is over 20mbps and I have the M2. I lose connection not less than 10 times within the hour most times. There are exceptions where it may not disconnect, but not very many and only if there is no activity. If I attempt to change channels or check the listings, for get it!
I’ve complained for a year, but Sling doesn’t care. I have less trouble streaming directly from the websites.

My goodness. No one cares about these posts. We already have a way to measure whats popular on tv and they are known as TV ratings. This doesnt help anyone. Rather, please provide updates on fixes to the various bugs and errors with your software, including the lack of support for slingplayer on almost all of the new media streamers of 2015. You really are hooking new customers into believing their new gadgets will actually work, when in reality they dont.
