Two events from the NBA All-Star Weekend topped our list this week, the Verizon Slam Dunk contest and 2016 All-Star Game. Both events aired live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, which is the home of the Toronto Raptors.

The West triumphed in the all-star matchup on Sunday night, winning 196-173 over the East as neither team seemed to bring their defensive game with them to Canada. Russell Westbrook was honored as the MVP after finishing with a team-high 31 points. Another star in the spotlight was Kobe Bryant, playing in his 18th and final All-Star Game.

The annual dunk contest is always a fan favorite and this year was no exception. While Zach LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves was the official winner of the contest for the second year in a row, Orlando’s Aaron Gordon’s dunks are still stealing the spotlight nearly a week later. A report by ESPN’s Sport Science found that Gordon reached a height of 7’7” at the apex of his jump over his team’s mascot. That height would have won Gordon the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics!

Have a great weekend! We’ll be back next week with more top 10 lists.
