Slingbox for Soldiers Near and Far

05-14-14 - militaryOur men and women in uniform protect the US and defend our interests both here and abroad. That often means their job requires them to be away from their families for long periods of time while on duty. It is no small sacrifice, but one that we all appreciate and more importantly respect.

Slingbox can bring them a little closer to home. Whether they’re stateside but stationed in another state or foreign-based, they can watch American TV – in real time – when a Slingbox is connected to a cable set-top box or satellite receiver back home.

So, if a marine from Minnesota is stationed in California, or Dubai, he or she can still watch their beloved Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves or Wild games, whether live or recorded on his or her laptop, tablet or smartphone. Or maybe an army base in Okinawa has a 55-inch TV in the common area. If there’s a Roku or another connected device hooked up to it, the troops can take advantage of that big screen and watch the Super Bowl or any other program with the rest of America, even though they might be thousands of miles away.

Sling Media is offering all military personnel a special reduced price on a Slingbox 350, now available at select Military Exchanges throughout the country and on the Army & Air Force Exchange Service’s website. Thanks to all of our brave soldiers who help make this country great!
